  • Accessibility: There is not a lift at Rockaway Beach for boarding. There is a lift at Garibaldi that can be used to get people on and off the train.
  • Pets Allowed in Outdoor Cars!: We do allow dogs (and other small pets like cats) on our train, but only in the outdoor cars such as the Covered Open Car and the Open Top Car. Only task trained service animals are allowed in the indoor cars. Emotional Support Animals and Pets are not allowed in the indoor cars.

Skip the Hassle of Parking and Take the Train to the Parade!

text Board Oregon Coast Scenic Railroad’s train for worry free trip to the Garibaldi Days Parade! The shuttle train will depart from Rockaway Beach at 9:00 AM, arriving in Garibaldi around 9:30 AM. Passengers will then be able to get off the train and get seats for the popular Garibaldi Days Parade! Once the parade is over, you can either get right back on the 12 PM return or choose from the 2 PM or 4 PM return times to enjoy the vendors at the Garibaldi Days event!

The trip from Rockaway to Garibaldi will be diesel powered, but the leg of the journey from Garibaldi back to Rockaway is slated to be powered by our steam locomotive, McCloud River Railroad #25! Our train ride includes on board narration that treats passengers to an immersive step back in time, complete with beautiful views and educational information all while traveling at a leisurely pace to your destination.

Seating Options

Indoor Cars

Coach Car – Cushioned seats with windows at each seat that can slide open.

Table Car – Two seat and four set tables with chairs. Fully enclosed with windows that can slide open.

Outdoor Cars

Covered Open Car – Open air car equipped with bench seats and a roof.

Open Top Car – Open air car equipped with bench seats and no roof.
