Enjoy Cookies and Hot Cocoa Aboard the Candy Cane Express!

Take in the views of the beautiful Oregon coastline while enjoying hot chocolate and cookies on this festive steam-powered excursion. Write letters to Santa while traveling along and visit with the jolly man himself! The train is lit up with Christmas lights to get your family in the festive spirit. Candy Cane Express is a wonderful holiday experience for both the young, and the young at heart!

This round-trip excursion departs Garibaldi and runs to Rockaway Beach for a total of one hour.

Seating Options:

PLEASE DOUBLE CHECK THAT YOU ARE SEATED WITH YOUR PARTY. WE CANNOT GUARANTEE WE WILL BE ABLE TO MOVE YOU ON THE DATE OF THE EVENT.

  • Covered car – Has a roof but no windows, so bundle up!
  • Enclosed cars – 1950s dining cars with tables and chairs. These are fully enclosed with windows and a roof.
  • Historic Wilson River car – 1920s passenger car with booth seats. Fully enclosed with windows and a roof.
  • Neahkahnie Car – 1910 dining car. Has tables and chairs, and is fully enclosed with windows and a roof.

All tickets are round-trip. There is no layover in Rockaway Beach.

Oregon Coastal Excursion – Rockaway Beach or Garibaldi

Our signature excursion along the scenic Tillamook Bay and the Oregon Coast offers a relaxed ride and a step back in time behind an authentic steam locomotive or vintage diesel locomotive! Departing from Garibaldi or Rockaway Beach, this excursion is 30 minutes each direction. A minimum 30 minute layover is included, but passengers may stay longer and take any available return trip!
